My special needs students loved this book so much I had to buy a replacement! The children with autism seem especially drawn to the colorful characters and beautiful illustrations.
This is a very good book even for a 2 year old. I just started reading this book 2 days ago - my son really enjoys looking at the pictures and he already remember the name of the characters A to E.
The ABC letterland series is an excellent tool for introducing young children to the alphabet and the formation of their first words and sentences. Each letter has it's own illustrated character which helps the reader to identify it. By putting these characters into a story it makes it fun for the reader and helps them to retain the information. After reading this book a couple of times with my 3 year old daughter, she went on to watched the video. Within 3 days she could recite the alphabet and recognise the shape of each letter. When asked if she could draw me an "Annie Apple" she drew a perfect "a". I would highly recommend this series to any parent hoping to teach their child how to read and write.
A clearly ilustrated and brightly coloured book with plenty to grasp a toddler's attention and encourage letter recognition . Some of the letter characters have been changed, however, which means this book isn't 100% compatible with the earlier Letterland books and videos.
This book is simple yet extremely effective and uncomplicated. Children learn to read very easily using letterland and this book has the ideal format to keep a young child interested while learning - strongly recommended!
I learnt letters with this as a child and will now be using it to do the same with children in my classroom. I loved it and still do, many fond memories.
I learnt to read using letterland 28 years ago! I have bought this book and the alphabet freize for my nearly 2 and a half year old. He absolutely loves them! After a very short time he can name all of the characters and knows lots of the 'sounds' that they make. He is extremely interested in learning and these books encourage the thought that learning is fun!
I remember using Letterland book when I was very young. I found it attractive and a fun way to learn. My mum would sit me down for five or ten minutes everyday and see if I can recall their names, who they were or how to write the letter, it was such fun. I can also remember being one of the few children who knew my letters before I started school and I was very proud of that fact. It made me feel much more motivated about school work knowing I've already started, and the fun I had doing it. I used a earlier edition but looking at the pictures I would say it's slightly different but still the same good quality book. I would recommend personally having used the book as a child that it is very useful aid to letters; both verbal and written and also story telling and imagination at that age. I still remember my favourite letter Clever Cat after all thoughts years.

My 27 yr old son loved his letterland book that he got for his 3rd birthday. He was an early reader and I'm sure it's thanks to the letterland abc book. I am now looking to buy my young Grand daughter the same book.
This best-selling book is a much-loved publication and a perfect introduction to the Letterland characters. Children will enjoy meeting Annie Apple and all her friends as they look at the 26 beautifully illustrated scenes and listen to the accompanying stories. On each page there are lots of objects to discover beginning with a letter sound, so there’s plenty of opportunity for young learners to practise their growing phonics skills. Ideal for promoting phonemic awareness, developing vocabulary and teaching listening skills, the ABC Book is an essential addition to any child’s bookshelf and to any classroom where phonics is part of the curriculum.
