FREE Letterland Workshop in Ireland: 25th May

Letterland Phonics workshops will be running in Republic of Ireland on the 25th May. The workshop in Co Cork is free to attend so hurry and email training@letterland.com with your details to secure your place!

Mrs Lesley White will be the speaker at both events which are outlined below. Lesley is a former Early Years teacher, who has trained teachers, helpers and parents to use Letterland throughout the UK, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Far East.  Part of the Letterland in-service training team since 1992, Lesley has vast experience in all aspects of Letterland and early phonics teaching. Target audience

 

 

 

Pre-School and Primary School Teachers - whether you want to learn about Letterland or have used it for years, the workshop will cater for all levels.

 

 

Objectives

     

  • to demonstrate the use of high quality phonics materials for children of all ages & abilities
  • to provide practical activities for school use
  • to show how to build a love of language in a fun, multi-sensory, cross-curricular way
  • to discuss how to encourage speaking, listening and thinking skills
  • to provide an opportunity to study the complete range of Letterland material
  • to provide an opportunity to ask Letterland related questions
Content
  • developing phonemic awareness
  • extending phonic skills through play and language development
  • teaching individual letter shapes & sounds (aA-zZ)
  • initial, medial and final sounds and shapes
  • introducing blending & digraphs through simple stories
  • introducing early word-building through live spelling
  • identifying and solving difficulties
