What is Classic Letterland?
In 2003, as a result of teacher and parental feedback, we updated our materials and added valuable additional teaching strategies and products that build on and extend our successful Letterland teaching methods.
To celebrate this change, all the characters were redrawn in a more modern, colourful style making sure that they are still instantly recognisable as Letterland characters so you can continue to use the material you already own alongside the new material. As an example, have a look at our ABC bestseller book as both a Classic Letterland title and New Look Letterland title below:
As a result of these improvements, some of the characters names were changed, including Robber Red and Wicked Water Witch. We have provided transition stories for all the character changes to help you move from Classic materials to the new range. These stories can also be found in the Primary Years Letterland Teacher’s Guide (page 185).
